100 word challenge (it reminded me of a time when…)
It reminded me of a time when I was ice skating with my friend Layla 15 years ago. It’s been a while now but 15 years ago on June the 21st I broke my leg at one of my ice skating competitions in New Zealand.
Since then I’ve never walked again and have been getting around in a wheelchair. I’ve never really been the same again. Giving up a sport you truly love is hard. I’ve also never seen or heard from Layla since.
But one day I woke and I felt like a different person. I felt like none of my bones hurt. So I tried standing up and I stood up like a normal person that got out of bed would do in the morning. I hadn’t felt the feeling of freedom in years. To be able to do things for myself felt really good too. But then I awoke from my dream and noticed I was still the girl who was broken in pieces.
Hi Ava,
I think your one hundred word challenge is amazing!
I like how creative and inspiring it is.
I honestly think that a lot of people would be inspired by this short story.
Kind regards,
Eloise.
