On a bright summers afternoon Lacey Brooke, was just reading a book up in her room.

Her mum Vivian asked her to go and play at the beach for a while because she had to go out to dinner soon.

Lacey didn’t believe her mum and felt very suspicious.

When she got to the beach she called her friends Angelina and Sydney to come and join her down at the beach, but they were exhausted and couldn’t come because they had just come home from a party.

Lacey felt as if her friends and mum where always trying to ditch her and always had a excuse for not spending time with her.

But little did she know the reason they where trying to be alone at times.

Lacey’s birthday was in 3 days and she was turning 14. They had to all go shopping for her birthday.

3 days later when It was Lacey’s birthday, she then understood why no one was around and where all busy. She appreciated everything more and felt very special that they used up there own time going shopping for her.

And she had the best birthday ever!
